Tennis
Clifton Meadows offers the best summer tennis program in the city, and we are enhancing the program each year. We repaved our 2 lower courts in 2021, and we resurfaced the 4 upper courts in 2022. We have 2 ladies traveling teams and offer 9 weeks of ladies’ team practices on Wednesday evenings and Thursday mornings. We will offer men’s team practices on Wednesday evenings for 4 weeks in June. We also have open invite in-house adult leagues, Ladies on Tuesday nights and Men on Wednesday nights, doubles format, rotating partners each set, casual friendly competition. We are looking to create a more competitive men's league and/or a traveling men’s team. We will continue our very successful junior clinics and junior traveling team. We offer adult clinics multiple days each week, for all skill levels. No sign up needed for tennis clinics, just show up with a racket, ready to play.
We have 6 beautiful hard courts with divider curtains and windscreens. We also have 2 pickleball courts, lights on upper 4 courts, and top notch hitting wall. We’ve been busy the last few years upgrading our tennis facilities!
2021: Repaved our 2 lower courts with fresh blacktop and resurfaced with fresh paint, added pickleball lines.
2022: Resurfaced the 4 upper courts, repaired the tennis lights, renovated the hitting wall with new wood and fresh paint. We also added the men’s in-house doubles league.
2023: We added a women’s in-house league to the schedule.
2024: We installed a new divider net on the lower courts, so we now have dividers for all 6 courts! Added pickleball social league.
2025: We introduce our new tennis director, John Kolenich.
John Kolenich is our new club pro and is available for private lessons on our courts for $80/hour.

Adult Evening Clinics
Mondays and Thursdays starting 6/2/25, ending 8/7/25.
6-7 pm Beginner and Advanced Beginner Clinic
7-8 pm Intermediate Clinic
The Pro will assist members in determining their skill level so that they can find appropriate partners at their own level.
Intermediate Morning Clinics
Mondays and Wednesdays from 9-10 am starting 6/2/25, ending 8/6/25.
Juniors Clinics
Mondays and Wednesdays starting 5/28/25, ending 7/2/25.
Ages 11 & up 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Ages 7-10 11:00 am - 11:45 am
Ages 4-6 11:45 am - 12:15 pm
Tennis Teams
Ladies’ Team
Wednesdays 5:30-7 pm and Thursdays 10:30 am-12 pm, starting 5/28/25, ending 7/24/25.
Matches occur on Friday mornings between 9-11am, dates TBD. Matches will be at Clifton Meadows and at different clubs.
The fee is $25 per player and can be paid here.
Men’s Team Practices
Wednesdays in June from 7-8:30pm starting 6/4/25, ending 6/25/25.
The first hour will be instructional and the last half hour will be open play.
In-house Doubles Leagues
We plan to run in-house doubles leagues for men and women in 2025. Men’s league will begin on Wed nights at 7pm starting in July. Women’s league will occur on Tuesday nights. Exact dates/times, season length, and formats TBD
Private Lessons
Our club tennis pro, John Kolenich is also available for private lessons on our own courts for $80/hour for players of all ages.

Junior Team
Practices on Mondays 12:30-1:30 pm and Thursdays 12-1 pm starting 5/29/25, ending 7/3/25.
Matches on Wednesdays at 1pm beginning in June, ending early July. Match schedule TBD.
Junior tennis team is open to boys and girls. Matches occur at Clifton Meadows and away at other clubs. Players should have the ability to serve and keep score; otherwise have your child start with the junior clinics. Players will often carpool to matches, and at least one adult from the team must attend each match to supervise.
The fee is $25/player and can be paid here.
Club Matches
Club matches and open invite tennis gatherings often occur on Friday and Sunday afternoons (around 4pm) in the summer. This is casual and open to all members and all skill levels. Get on our tennis email list to find players or arrange your own tennis gatherings.
